When I design a site I strive to keep it simple: easy to navigate, quick to download, informative, functional, and pleasing to the eye. I use a text editor to set up the foundations of all my sites because I am not the greatest programmer, and don't pretend to be. First, I slap the main elements into Dreamweaver. Then - if there is any tweaking I need to do - I grab my O'Reilly guides and start pounding out code.
