Cincinnati, OH / 06.24.06
- set list:
I thought this was a fantastic show. The Cincy crowd was really
into it and constantly cheered and sang. I really liked the set
list too. US Bank Arena was the same venue in which 11 people
were crushed to death at a Who concert in December of 1979, and I think
with the tragic anniversary of the Roskilde Festival approaching it was something
that weighed heavy on the mind of the band, as it was talked
about by Ed during the show. Ed did The Kids Are Alright
as his pre-set and the band closed with Baba O'Riley.
Ed also brought up his disdain for the current Rolling Stone cover which featured just him
when RS had promised them it would be the entire band featured
on the cover. (A shitty bait and switch by RS if you ask me.)
He said he had 50 copies of it so that when he takes a shit he
has something to wipe his ass with. This prompted wild laughter
from the crowd. My favorite show quote from this whole tour was
from this night as well. It was something Ed said to someone
towards the end of the show that was holding up a sign that said:
PLAY THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT. "Play The Kids Are Alright!?!
I already played it at 7:30 you ASSHOLE!" hahaha I hate
people that hold up signs begging for songs, so I loved it when
he said that.
I was in row R on the floor between
Stone and Ed. I only have a 3x optical zoom, so it was kind hard
to get nice, tight shots. Also, it was difficult for me to get
shots that didn't have a fist or hat or head or sign blocking
one of the band members. Only a few were worthy of even uploading,
and you can find them below. I was disappointed that I wasn't
able to get any good, clear shots of Jeff either. Sorry Jeff
fans.
Help me to keep this stuff up
here and free for all fans to download and enjoy by respecting
my bandwidth. I ask that you PLEASE DO NOT DIRECT LINK TO THE PHOTOS! If
you download these files and share them or put them up under
your own web space, that is fine by me (please give credit tho,
thanks). What I don't want is my bandwidth used up just because
you want a PJ image for your site and are too lazy, cheap or
stupid to download & re-upload it yourself. (Yes, this includes
direct linking on message boards.)
